Many months were required to complete the CCPA video focusing on Cades Cove Corn Farming. Representative beans and corn were actually grown on and harvested from Leon Spark's Tuckaleechee Cove farm to provide footage for the video. Sara Gregory provided many hours to video, narrate, and edit the product which includes an ample amount of Cades Cove history and beautiful scenery. Other CCPA members plowed, seeded, hoed, harvested and sweated! A wide screen monitor was loaned by a local business for use at the Alnwick Smithsonian exhibit.
This exhibit illustrates the importance of fruit and berry products to the Cades Cove community. A cabinet used by "Barefoot" Jerry Effler and various "kitchen tools" can be seen. The exhibit was assembled by Paulette Ledbetter

The apple press was a valuable tool for many Cades Cove families. This representative apple press, donated to the CCPA, is typical of those used to convert the fruit to cider. 1-2005 Hunting and fishing provided Cades Cove families with meat for the table. Several representative varmits are included in CCPA exhibits.

Posters depicting our Cades Cove heritage adorn the walls at the Alnwick Smithsonian exhibit. 1-2005 Beekeepers The Blount County Beekeepers Association provided an exhibit explaining the workings of the beehive and the importance of bees to agriculture. Honey was very important as a sweetener for the Cades Cove community.
1-2005 Paulette Ledbetter, Missy Tipton and Sara Gregory provided this exhibit of gardening tools surrounding photographs of the CCPA garden. This garden was grown to replicate the corn and beans grown by our Cove ancestors.

Mary Gregory greets visitors to the Smithsonian exhibit at the CCPA Alnwick home. Mary provided the leadership to bring the exhibit to Blount County. 1-2005 Artist Sharon Pocock provided an exhibit of cornhusk dolls at the Alnwick home of the CCPA. A portion of the sales were donated to the CCPA.
